Oma’s Pride is recalling one lot of its Woof Complete Canine Chicken Recipe frozen raw dog food after an FDA test found Salmonella in the product.
The recall, updated August 17, covers the 6 lb bag of Woof Complete Canine Chicken Recipe, lot BB012729. The affected bags were manufactured January 27, 2026, with a best-by date of January 27, 2029, and were distributed in Arizona, California, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, New Jersey, Nevada, New York, Pennsylvania, and Virginia. They were sold to retail and wholesale accounts and shipped frozen directly to customers who ordered online. About 639 bags are affected, and no other Oma’s Pride products or lots are part of this recall.
The recall started with a consumer complaint. The FDA collected and tested a sample of the product, which came back positive for Salmonella, and three illnesses in dogs have been reported so far. No human illnesses have been reported.
Salmonella can make dogs sick, and it can also spread to people who handle the food or touch bowls and surfaces it came in contact with. Wash your hands after handling any raw pet food, recalled or not.
What you should do now
- Stop feeding the product and check the lot code on the bag. BB012729 is the only affected lot.
- Safely dispose of any recalled bags. Do not sell or donate them.
- Contact Oma’s Pride for a refund at 1-800-678-OMAS (Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Eastern) or hello@omaspride.com.
- Wash and sanitize food bowls, cups, and storage containers, and wash your hands thoroughly after handling the food.
- Watch your dog for lethargy, diarrhea or bloody diarrhea, fever, vomiting, decreased appetite, or abdominal pain. If your dog ate the recalled food and shows any of these signs, call your veterinarian.
