Check the label on tonight’s can before you pop the lid. Fromm Family Foods has pulled thousands of cases of two canned dog foods off shelves over possible metal contamination.
The recall, announced August 21, covers Fromm Turkey Pâté Wet Dog Food and Fromm Diner Classics Milo’s Meatloaf Pâté Wet Dog Food. Affected cans carry lot codes EP2A3306 551006 and EP2A3306 551029, with a Best By date of March 2029. They were sold through neighborhood pet stores and online shops across the United States and Canada, and no illnesses have been reported so far. Fromm shared the full list of affected lots, which iHeartDogs summarized when the news broke.
What this means for your dog: if you have either recipe in the pantry, stop feeding it now and return the cans to the store where you bought them. No other Fromm products are involved. Then watch for warning signs like choking, vomiting, appetite loss, lethargy, or stomach upset. Sharp metal can injure a dog’s mouth or digestive tract, so call your vet if your pup ate the recalled food and anything seems off, even mildly.
