Your dog has spent years watching you open a sleeve of Thin Mints and share exactly none of them. Girl Scouts of the USA announced on September 8 that its first cookie made for dogs, Patch Pals, joins the lineup for the 2027 season.
Patch Pals are soft-baked and blueberry muffin flavored, developed with BARK, the New York company behind BarkBox. Each treat carries one of four patch designs borrowed from classic Girl Scout experiences. They will be sold online only, with direct shipping starting January 12, 2027, and the price has not been announced. Cookie season runs January through April, with proceeds staying local.
The dog cookie arrived alongside a second addition: Sparkables, the first allergy-friendly Girl Scout cookie, an oatmeal cookie with chocolate chips and sprinkles made in a facility built to avoid nine major allergens. Both products came from scouts who wanted cookie season to include more of their communities.
What this means for your dog
Patch Pals are dog treats, which is the point. Thin Mints and Samoas stay off limits, so keep the human boxes on a high shelf. Treats count toward daily calories, so break each one into pieces for training instead of handing over the whole box.
