K9 Pie is a daily dog news and information site. We summarize the news that matters to dog owners, explain health research in plain language, and flag product recalls as soon as we can verify them. This page explains how we do that.
How we choose stories
We watch a short list of established, verified sources: major dog organizations, veterinary news outlets, and specialist dog-care publications. From those, we pick the stories most useful to everyday dog owners. We skip product ads and celebrity gossip on purpose.
How we write
Every summary is written in our own words. We never copy articles or scrape text from the sources we cover. We report facts, we link to the original story so you can read the full picture, and we add the practical takeaway: what this means for your dog.
Health content
Our health and medical articles are based on published studies and veterinary publications, written for everyday owners. We explain what the research says, what it means for your dog, and when it is worth a conversation with your veterinarian. Health content on this site is educational and is not a substitute for veterinary care. Please read our Medical Disclaimer.
Recalls
We track official FDA recall notices and trusted pet-food recall trackers. When we post a recall, we link the official notice so you can verify the details yourself. Recalls appear in our Dog Recalls & Safety section and on the news page.
Corrections
We get things wrong sometimes. When we do, we fix it. If you spot an error, contact us through the Contact page and we will correct it promptly and honestly.
Independence
We do not accept payment for coverage, and we never will. If we ever include affiliate links or sponsored content, we will label it clearly. Today we run neither.
Questions about how we work? Use the Contact page, we are glad to answer.
