As cold weather sets in across the US, pet owners should remember that if it’s too cold for humans outside, it’s too cold for pets, veterinarians say, and animals that must be kept outside should be provided with shelter and warm bedding to prevent hypothermia. In areas where power outages are possible, owners should also have blankets and other items handy, and ensure there is plenty of water and food on hand.
