Veterinary technician Shay Warnken says dog owners in the Wichita, Kan., region should be alert for signs of kennel cough, a contagious airborne disease that spreads easily at boarding facilities, grooming salons, dog parks and even across fences. Signs may be mild and include a dry cough and lethargy, but dogs that develop a fever may have more severe disease.
