Immunotherapy trial puts dog’s cancer in remission

A 4-year-old Labrador retriever mix is in remission after undergoing an amputation and chemotherapy for osteosarcoma followed by a three-pronged immunotherapy regimen when the cancer metastasized to her lungs. “We’re using this triple threat to not just go after one component of the immune system that’s not working, but three different components,” said veterinary oncologist Cheryl London, associate dean of research and graduate education at Tufts University’s School of Veterinary Medicine.
