To make your training attempt successful I have listed out tips in do’s and dont’s :
DO
1.Focus on your dog. Bring him into your world by understanding his instincts and natural behaviors.
2.Be honest. Never fool your pet into doing what you want or tease him with the commands you teach.
3.Begin each command with the end in sight. Reward him but only when he/she has completed the task you’ve set.
4.Be consistent. Always use the same words for desired behaviors and the same tone of voice. Consistency is key.
5.Reward immediately. Forms conditioning for good behavior.
6.Teach one command at a time.
7.Be patient. Allow enough time for your dog to take in your command and then act.
8.Enjoy yourself. Play with your dog before and after each training session.
Be kind. A poorly trained dog is the fault of the trainer, not the dog.
DON’T
1.Don’t finish a training session on a bad note. Remain positive and praise him for progress.
2.Don’t punish him while you’re angry.
3.Don’t lose your temper.
4.Don’t chase him. The idea is to make him come to you.
5.Don’t deceive. Never shower him with praise to bring him to you and then punish him because he’s been naughty.
6.Don’t repeat. Be patient, but don’t overuse commands.
