Where Can I Adopt And Older Dog In Alberta?

Most dog rescues and shelters will have older senior dogs, adult dogs, younger dogs, and puppies. Here’s a list of a couple of rescue organizations that specialize in older dogs.

  • ARTS Senior Animal Rescue – Service Calgary, Edmonton, and Red Deer Alberta
  • Elderdog Canada – they’re actually located in Rose Bay, Nova Scotia but they are a national organization and may rehome an older dog in your area.

My parents have been looking for an older dog as a companion and they’ve been working with several rescues that specialize in senior dogs.

They recently found a little three-legged dog that looks much like their last dog Ralphie. Hopefully, they’ll make a good match.

How Much Is It To Adopt A Dog In Alberta?

Most dog rescues and shelters charge a fee when adopting a dog whether that be in Alberta or any other city across Canada and the United States.

After reviewing all of the rescues and shelters on our list of dogs for adoption the average cost to adopt a dog in Alberta is $300 – $500.
