Child in Cambodia dies of HPAI

An 11-year-old girl in southeastern Cambodia infected with H5N1 avian influenza died after falling ill on Feb. 16 and being taken to a hospital in the capital, according to the Cambodia Health Ministry. The girl had a fever, cough and sore throat, and health officials are testing samples from a dead wild bird found at a conservation area near the child’s home.
