Veterinarian Boel Fransson, a professor at Washington State University, has been working with Surgical Science to adapt the company’s virtual reality simulators for a veterinary laparoscopic surgery training program. The VR program realistically simulates tissues, how tissues behave and how the instruments work, and Fransson is working with the company to simulate canine anatomy.

A class-action suit alleges that anticompetitive behavior by Idexx Laboratories has caused pet owners to pay artificially inflated prices for point-of-care diagnostics.
