Around 1,600 snow geese have died of highly pathogenic avian influenza since November in two areas of Colorado. More than 1,000 snow geese were found dead on waterways in Morgan and Logan counties in northeastern Colorado late last year, and approximately 600 died at a reservoir in southeastern Colorado, with smaller numbers of dead geese found at neighboring reservoirs.
