HPAI reported in poultry flocks for first time in 3 states

Arizona, Mississippi and South Carolina have reported outbreaks of highly pathogenic H5N1 avian influenza in poultry flocks, and losses are on track to surpass the record set in 2015. Two backyard flocks in Yavapai County, Ariz., a commercial breeder chicken flock in Lawrence County, Miss., and a backyard flock in Beaufort County, S.C., marked the states’ first reports of HPAI in domesticated birds.
