Reports of salmonella isolates found in raw pet foods in the UK increased by 8.1% from 2020 to 2021, reports of salmonella found in animal feed increased by 10.3%, and 731 isolations of salmonella were reported in dogs in 2021, the first year reporting was mandated, according to a report from the UK Animal and Plant Health Agency based on data collected in England, Wales and Scotland. Reports of salmonella isolates from cattle, sheep and pigs rose, while reports of isolates from chicken, turkeys and ducks declined.
